Modules are useful when you want to add an extra level of organization to your Sensei course. They help break down a course’s lesson into different mini-lessons that all fall into the same area.
A Course can contain any number of Modules, and each Lesson can be assigned to a single Module within that Course.
You can also use the same module in different courses: think of a music teacher who wants to use the same harmony lessons for piano and guitar students. They may not share the whole music course, but they have some lessons in common. Modules allow the teacher to include that within different courses.
You can add a Module from Dashboard > Courses > Modules:
Modules are displayed in alphabetical order, but you can order them from Courses > Order Modules by dragging and dropping them.
You can create and assign modules to courses later from the Course page editor, by using the feature box on the right:
Once you have added some Modules to a Course, you can then assign each of the Course’s Lessons to any of the Modules used in that Course.
To assign a Lesson to a Module:
- Go to Lessons > All Lessons, and edit the Lesson in question. You will see a new Lesson Module panel in the sidebar, listing all the Modules available in this Course.
- Select the Module you want to assign this Lesson to.
- Update the Lesson.
Modules are also great for pupils to check their progress in a course! When Modules are included within a course, they get displayed on the Single Course page, under the Modules heading. Each module shows a link to the Single Module page, as well as a list of links to the Lessons within that Module.
